Whenever I am trying to add a calculation field (and other types) to a record i find myself typing cal and then wondering why nothing is happening:

thank you so much for the request, and for sharing this feedback. You are absolutely right, searching for a field type can be a real pain.
The good news is that we have already solved this in the new Record experience. For the old App Creator we will not add this anymore, as we plan to fully retire it next year after the complete rollout of the new Record experience.
