🆕 Manual run on a view

You can now start a Manual run on a specific view.

This gives you more control over which records a Manual run should include.

  • :white_check_mark: What stays familiar:
You can still start a Manual run for a specific record, a number of records, or all records.

  • :sparkles: What’s new:
You can now also choose a view, including public and private views.

That means you can run an automation only for the records that currently match a specific view.

Views are dynamic, so records automatically move in and out based on the view’s filters. This makes Manual runs much more flexible, especially when you want to work with a precise set of records, without extra helper fields or building temporary workflows.

Thanks for the feature request: Manually trigger automation on a view →

Happy building.

This feature will be used a ton. Very excited that it is available.
But more than the awesomeness of the feature itself, I just have to comment that what I really love most here is the responsiveness and rate of improvement at Tape.

The initial feature request was made and got some early support from a handful of users. Then, WITHIN 30 DAYS the Tape team had taken that idea and quietly released the feature. That is AMAZING

They didn’t wait 13 years. They didn’t schedule 32 calls with partners to get feedback and make sure it checked all the boxes of every possible use case. Tape simply understood, took action, and quickly released something that works great.
I’m sure if/when additional feedback requires future iterations, they will be similarly fast to release improvements again.
That my friends, is the beauty and most under-celebrated value of Tape. Thank you Tape Team!

I use manual runs a lot. Allowing Private Views to do this is very helpful when you want to test larger automation on controlled batch of records.
