Has anyone explored MCP for Tape?
Man, it’s so hard to keep up with the monumental amount of tools available. Haven’t heard from MCP before. Looks very interesting.
I’m working on it! It’s very slow going but it’s a GREAT idea!! ![]()
MCP is the standard for connecting programs to AI.
Anthropic developed it, and everybody else is adopting it including open AI.
It’s essentially the USB port. I noticed that Zapier makes it easy to connect and provide auth to anything supported - Google, Dropbox, and so on. I was surprised to see Podio in there as an option.
Would your goal be to build Agentic AI that can be an extra ‘employee’ accomplishing tasks in Tape?
Or use more as an analytical ‘RAG’ solution that can retrieve data and provide smart answers to questions based on the data you store in Tape?
I’m very interested in both, but haven’t spent the time to figure it all out yet.
Yes. Lol.
I’m just learning about it a bit and this is where most of our data lives, so naturally I’m curious.
I thought about building out a Zapier integration that I could hand off to the team.
Claude thinks it’s a light lift ![]()
I’ve created an MCP server for tape that has a documentation review tool and then tools for each API action. I’ve been running it locally to some positive benefit. It’s definitely super useful in Claude Code for getting Tape app info in context.
I’ll try to get it up on GitHub this week.
