[✅ Solution] Move a Project from one workspace to another

Hey Amazing Humans,
I have created a new workspace, and I have a couple of projects in an existing workspace that I would like to move to the new workspace. Is there an easy way to move it, or must I create it from scratch and delete the existing one?

Hi

You should be able to move them with automation fairly simply if they are records if the are apps in a workspace just drag and drop

Thankfully, @Jason has already provided you with the available options. However, I keep receiving feedback from new users who have migrated to our platform, mentioning that they face difficulties here, even though it works much more straightforwardly in Tape.

The approach depends on what exactly you want to transfer from one workspace to another:

  1. Moving an Entire App:
    If you want to move a complete app, this can be done simply via drag-and-drop. All relations will remain intact, so you can easily reorganize your apps without losing relations.
  2. Transferring Records via Import to an Existing App:
    If you want to move records unchanged into an existing app, you can use Tape’s export and import functionality.
  3. Transferring Records via Automations to an Existing App:
    You can also utilize the Automations for this. Additionally, the batch endpoint via the Tape API is particularly noteworthy. It allows you to efficiently transfer or duplicate large volumes of records. @Jason has provided a detailed showcase on how to use it, which you can find here.
