Hi all,
Am I missing something? I can’t seem to find the trigger “when a comment is updated” in automations.
I can see the “when a comment is added” trigger as well as “when a record is updated” but without commenting options.
It feels very natural to have this option but somehow I can’t find it. Is this currently possible?
The problem comes when you copy a comment in another record from app A to app B and then modify this comment, adding something for example, in app A. This edition is not being copied from A to B (even having already an automation to copy comments in between). I thought that this was actually taken care of by this same “when a comment is added” automation but this is not happening.
I totally understand your use case. At the moment, we don’t have a trigger for editing comments yet. So far, we had very few requests for this, so we have prioritized other features on the roadmap.
But you are very welcome to create a feature request for it. When we do the next iteration on automations (which we definitely have planned), we can look into adding triggers like this.
Hi Leo,
Thanks for your comment. This honestly feels more like a “bug” or a missing blind spot than a new feature since it is so natural… I actually spent some time looking for it. I was expecting to find these comment edition triggers under the normal “when a record is created” or “when a record is updated”. And it felt a bit confusing to have the comment’s stuff separated. Isn’t this supposed to be treated like a field/property in a record?
