When I started with Podio 11 years ago… I had no idea there was a ‘best’ way to get set up from the start. For example… I used my own email and setup the admin account on my regular working daily account. I get pummelled with emails from the system for anything and everything, vs just the stuff I really need to say on a day to day basis. Notifications are a landfill of uselessness as a result. I see that was a mistake now… 11 years later. Any words of wisdom on setting up correctly from the start, BEFORE I open my paid account? Thanks all.
I set “Silence” to nearly all automation and turned off email notifications to prevent notifications from multiple apps.
If I need to be notified of something more important, I create automation to add a new record to my custom task app. That task app is my go-to place to see what I must do that day/week/month, allowing me to add it to my Google Calendar directly from the record. Also, my task app is the only one with the “Show in Focus” active.
Tape Focus is a simple “To-Do” app that allows you to see the records you have assigned across all Tape apps. To keep things organized, the task app to is the only app that can add items to my Focus.
Basically, turn all notifications off and handle the critical things on a custom Task app. You can easily create automation to improve your system as you go on.
I’m really interested by your Tasks build. I need to reimagine my own ballooned Podio build and make it smaller and tighter. Thanks for your input and screen shots. Much appreciated.
Thanks Luis for the video. Really impressive. I’m only evaluating Tape at the moment… but its a hands-down winner over Podio. I’m going to move over… just working out the details of how/when… but email is a big needed item when that time comes. Thanks again!!
