Can create record with a field related to "current record", but not search a record based on the "current record"

I wonder why I can’t search a record, which has a relation to the “current record”, but can create a new record, which links to the “current record”? Seems like I need to go through “get related” with optional filters.

It just took me a while to understand, that search based on a “current record” is no alternative to “get related”
