Cool hidden feature - current filters are automatically recognized and applied when creating new items

Others might already know this, but I didn’t realize it until today, and it is super cool.

Tape is smart enough to automatically recognize and apply the context of the filters you are viewing whenever you click to create a new item.

For example, in our Tasks App, it’s very common that I stay focussed by working using pre-saved views with filters applied to show tasks where ‘Client = Client A, Status = Incomplete, Priority = High’

If I am working within that context, and hit the button to ‘Create a New Task’ then the task is created with all of those data fields already entered with those exact values.

If my filter changes to show the low priority tasks, then the next task I create would reflect that as well.
THIS IS SO COOL.

Honestly it’s probably happened a bunch before and I just didn’t think that much about it and took it for granted. But now that I’ve realized it, it’s a very helpful tool I can use to shortcut some data entry while creating new items inside Tape.

I use that all the time.
It saves a few clicks.

And we all know that clicks are time.
And time is money.
