Could an AVIF file be accepted as an image file?

I am working with an interior design company. They are including image files into tape and using it for a variety of reasons. There are some images, specifically an avif format that is not recognized by tape as being an image. As a result, we are unable to display the image in the tapeapp system. We can save it as a file, but then it is not viewable.

How difficult would it be to accept an AVIF file as an acceptable format for a tape image field?

Probably not the answer you’re looking for but I know you can convert them to JPG/PNG using command line and/or free online converters.

That would allow them to be viewable in the image field until compatibility for the file type is added.
