1 - To be in list view (or any view really) and be able to Ctrl + click to open an item in its own browser tab is greatly needed. When working in Podio, our workflow is to open several items in their own tabs and spread them across multiple screens. While working on one of the items, but using the others to reference important information. As it is now, a new instance of Tape needs to be open EACH time, search for item you’re looking for, then move it to its own screen.
2 - Likewise, SHIFT + click should open an item to its own browser window. Also needed.
3 - Final thought, when currently clicking on an item in list view, it opens as an overlay, or a floating form over the grayed out list in the background. This serves no purpose as near as I can tell. It does not use the full screen real estate, which, when traveling/working on a single little laptop screen, makes life harder. I think most would prefer it to open any clicked on item in full-screen.
These all mirror Podio’s functionality, which a lot of people of course are used to. I hope these tweaks can be incorporated. Thanks. Tape is amazing. Keep it up. Thanks
Also… I happened to notice this today too… We need the ability to open uploaded documents in Tape also to their own tab. As it is now, when you open the doc, it loads on top of the current Tape item, so its impossible to work on that Tape item while referencing the document. Also, there are times I need to open several uploaded documents simultaneously in an item to reference while working on an item.
I think that, generally speaking, the ability to Ctrl+click to open everything in its own tab would give the ultimate flexibility and would mirror the current Podio functionality. Thanks again.
Have you tried right click → open in new tab? That’s what I usually do with related items. I know it’s a workaround at best but I just wanted to share what I’m currently doing.
I have, but I don’t get that option. The only similar thing I can do is >right click on the browser tab >duplicate tab, then open the other item I want in that new tab. Completely useless.
I have tried 97 ways to accomplish this goal… and nothing works. Thanks though @1F2Ns appreciate your taking the time.
I’m doing the same thing since the beginning with right click… at the end of the day I normally have so many open, that I just shut down everyone and start again
It may be due to I am running a Chromebook… perhaps the options are not same on right-click. I am actually going back to a PC soon… so we’ll see. Thanks tomaz
