It would be awesome if at a dashboard we could add a Filter block to filter data from all the conteiners at once.
I think it should be a block which we’d select which app and fields we want to allow filtering, and once a filter is applied in view, all the blocks from that app would filter its value. A classical power-BI feature.
It would allow more dinamic views for dashboard and increase usage.
Not sure if it was already asked, did a little research and couldnt find it.
In our use case, we want to build dashboards to display metrics for each Sales Rep on a team.
Not one big Team dashboard, but individual dashboards for each person.
The dashboard contains 13 separate widgets from a number of different apps.
Because dashboard widgets rely on pre-saved views to filter data, it is going to require over 130 new views added across our system to accomplish this goal for 10 different sales reps.
If there was an option to have a block at the top to select a member, and then the views feeding each widget could dynamically adjust to filter and only show data matching that selected member, it would MASSIVELY simplify the structural set up and ongoing maintenance required to keep these dashboards up to date and valuable.
Another use case that we have for this feature request would be date parameters.
I know this can become quite complex since date fields could be added multiple times in many apps and all filter into different dashboards, so I get it wouldn’t be easy…
I assume it requires a setting somewhere to tag a primary date field or a reporting date field for each app.
But in a sales reporting dashboard, it would be nice if the dashboard itself had a block where we could enter a date range. All of the widgets populating on that dashboard would then adjust to display sales info for each particular report widget, filtered down to the date window entered on the one date filter block entry field.
