[DONE] Assembling_variables_failure

Bug maybe… no matter how I tried to assemble action block I keep getting this error:
ASSEMBLING_VARIABLES_FAILURE

Action block is “search for records” & conditional: if Status: incomplete, update related.

@tomaz great thanks for the info. And big thanks @jason for the support.
We will nevertheless be investigating the problem so that we can understand the root cause.

@tomaz @Leo
I’m facing the same issue, could you please share the workaround or how to solve this?

Together with Jason we managed to work out different action blocks inside automation. Still don’t know cause of issue but we managed to get it working. Sorry for not being much helpful here.

Hi @gchehade,

first of all a very warm welcome to the tape community! We are really pleased that you are here :tada: :100: :rocket:

Could you please post a screenshot of the action that is causing the problem for you or send me a DM here in the community if it contains sensitive data? We did analyse it afterwards when the error occurred with @tomaz but could not reproduce it directly in our test scenario. Maybe we now have the opportunity to solve the problem finally and without a workaround!

Best regards
Leo

Hi @Leo, thanks for the warm welcome! I’ve been here for a long time but not that active until a couple of weeks ago.
Unfortunately, I can’t share any screenshots since I manage to “fix” it myself but I can describe what I think it was happening.

Useacase: I have an Orders app and a Order Lines app, from a webhook was trying to search and update or create new lines based on the Order ID.
The action throwing the error was a Search Records on “Order Lines” app where I was looking for items with a given Order ID coming from a webhook - Funny fact: The app where I was searching for records had the same name for individual records as my main app “Orders” (both had item/record name “Order”).
It got fix by creating a new app for “Order Lines” which I called “Lines” so items where called “Line” instead of “Order”. Unfortunately I already deleted the app causing problems but maybe you can track something out from the new one I created (Tape)
Hope this helps

Hi @gchehade,

sorry for my late reply, we started straight away to understand the problem and then I forgot to reply to you. We suspect a name clash in a special variable constellation in connection with soft deletion of fields or apps.

Unfortunately we haven’t been able to fix the problem without the app. If you get the error again, it would be great if you could write to me here again.

Best
Leo
