[DONE] Filter option available depends on the category field position in the record (sounds crazy, but its true)

I wanted to set a filter for an automation and miss options that were recently there and still are in existing older apps / other organizations:

Initially you could filter for e.g. “has changed” … “has changed to” etc.

But in a new app, I only get those:

Both are single select fields.

OK thats crazy. If I move the category field up from lets say 22nd position to 5th position in the record, I get the full selection of operands. Moving it back down makes them disappear (can be recreated).

Adding the “has changed to” operand and save the automation will keep it, also when moving it to a lower position again.

thank you very much for the report. The available filter options depend on the trigger used. The Has changed filter options are only available with a Record Updated trigger. With e.g. a Record create trigger, an update of the record is not possible and therefore these filter options are missing here.
Can you double check that it is both a Record Updated trigger is used?

Hi Leo,
it is the same automation. I tried to recreate it and run into the same situation again, when I moved the field from 5th to last position in the record.

I don’t know why this has happended twice - I was pretty sure I picked the “control” field, but it was actually the “control / Previous Value”. Then of course it makes sense.

I wonder why I picked the wrong field twice… ?
So this crazy bug turns out to be none.

Thanks a lot for the feedback @dirk_s, fully understood. Yes, the previous value does not have the filter option Has changed of course.

Then we can close the issue.
