We’re attempting to build a view that uses “Group by” on a relationship field and it’s coming back with no values. Is this not possible? If it’s not possible, then relationship fields should be removed from the list of available options to pick from. Otherwise, is there something deeper going on here?
Actually, I see now that filtering by relationship is possible, I’m doing it in other apps. It just doesn’t seem to be working in this one. I try to Group by a relationship field and the view shows nothing even though there are related values there to use. This is the only relationship field in this particular app so I can’t test another.
Hi @andrew.cranston,
Thanks a lot for the detailed report!
It does indeed sound like this could be a bug, especially since grouping by relationship fields seems to work fine in other apps. One idea that comes to my mind: are you possibly using a single relationship field in this case, meaning a relation that only allows linking to one record?
Could you send me a DM with a few more details, like the App ID or a short video? Ideally, with the console window open so we can see if any errors occur.
Thanks again and best regards
Leo
Hi Leo,
I’m sorry, I thought I had come here to mark this as resolved but it had slipped my mind. It turns out that, somehow, the related app got removed from the field, so while the field had a value, the view couldn’t use it to group. It’s now fixed, apologies that I left this open and thanks for your consideration
Hi Andrew,
absolutely no problem at all, thanks so much for the fast update!
Great to hear everything is working again and that it turned out to be a config issue rather than a bug.
I’ll mark this as resolved on our end.
Thanks and best regards
Leo
