I basically would like to know if this is expected behavior or a bug.
I tested different image sizes in all the available image field sizes. Please find the tests here attached. In order to better see the differences I am going to expose the images in this order:
Thank you very much for the report. With medium and small image size, the behavior is correct because a fixed size of the image badge is prescribed and thus white borders are created at the top or bottom of the image if the image does not exactly match the format. A cover mode like in the board cards would solve the problem, but that would be a dedicated feature request.
With the large setting you have clearly discovered a bug, a special safari bug (this does not occur under chrome and firefox). The idea with large is that the image is displayed full screen and not this white stripe.
We are checking the details and will provide a fix.
Update on this issue, we were able to fix the problem faster than expected. The fix is already live, so the large setting in the image field should now also work properly under Safari.
