When reordering options in a long single-select list, dragging an item causes the list to freeze visually and the item’s apparent position can drift out of sync with the mouse/scroll position. This makes it difficult to place items accurately and often requires multiple drag attempts to get the item into the correct spot.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open a single-select field with a long list of options in edit mode (I’ve had this in legacy and new record types).
- Start dragging an option from near the top of the list downward.
- While dragging, scroll the list using the mouse wheel or trackpad.
- Observe that the list appears to freeze or the dragged item’s visible position does not match the scroll position.
- Release the mouse and note that the item may land in an unexpected position, requiring additional drag attempts to place it correctly.
