So we switched to new record layout which we live by the way, but there is one thing that is bothering some of my coworkers.
They are mostly on iPad using Safari.
We have a service order related to contacts app and when creating new service order contact is never found when typing name of the contact in related field. So since selecting to new layout a lot of contacts are now duplicated. If we switch back to old layout it works as expected. Anyone else experiencing the same problem maybe?
Hi @tomaz,
first of all, thank you so much for your feedback. I’m really happy to hear that you like the new Record experience ![]()
I’m sorry about this issue, and thank you for reporting it. This is extremely valuable for us, especially because the new Record is still in beta. Reports like this help us find and fix these issues as quickly as possible.
Would it be possible for you to send me a short video of the issue? That would help me understand exactly where the duplicates appear and how we can reproduce it on our side. You can also send it to me via direct message if the content is sensitive.
Thanks again for the report. It really helps us improve the new Record and get it out of beta faster.
Best regards,
Leo
We haven’t seen this exact issue on our side, but there are several things that we are seeing issues when the system is not 100% on the old record or 100% on the new record. When there are apps with different layout types, we are seeing various random bugs, and it sounds like that’s the situation here as well.
Hi @Leo,
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! We were away for a bit, and in the meantime my colleagues who use Record daily have been keeping an eye on it — good news is that the duplicate issue seems to be resolved now and everything is working normally. So no video needed for now, but I’ll be sure to grab one and send it over if it ever comes back.
And honestly, I have to give credit where it’s due: the new Record layout is fantastic. It feels much faster and cleaner to work in, the overview is clearer, and the whole experience of capturing and navigating records is a real step up from before. The team has done a great job with it — you can tell a lot of thought went into the details.
Thanks again for being so responsive. ![]()
Hi @tomaz,
of course, that’s absolutely understandable. Thank you so much for the feedback, and again, sorry for the issue ![]()
Since we are rebuilding everything from scratch and trying to get the maximum possible value out of every field type, it can of course happen that there are still one or two smaller issues in the first phase of the new implementation. But we strongly believe that this effort is worth it, and your feedback means a lot to us.
We are really trying to create a true USP here. As long-time Podio users, this is exactly what we always wished for: the ability to design records completely freely, with multi-column layouts, conditional field visibility, and much more.
And we are really just getting started. Right now, we are focusing on getting all field types live as quickly as possible, and we are already in the final steps there. After that, we will continue to expand the new Record experience with many things we already have planned, such as improved rules, layouts, dedicated opening types like side peek, top peek, compact peek, perfectly integrated task management, tabs, toggle lists, and more.
The goal is that users can work with Tape in a way that feels almost like custom-built software, fully adapted to their specific use case. And that is not even mentioning the major mobile upgrade we are also working towards.
Thanks again for the great feedback. Really appreciated.
Best regards, and have a great rest of the week,
Leo
