πŸ†• OAuth 2.1 is here: connect your tools and manage access in Tape

Tape now supports OAuth 2.1. Connecting AI tools and integrations is faster, with admins gaining granular control over active connections.

What is OAuth?

OAuth allows tools to connect securely to an application without exposing account passwords. OAuth 2.1 represents the latest security standard for this authorization process.

You sign in to Tape, approve access, and the integration works on your behalf. This eliminates the need to manually generate or copy API keys.

Connect AI tools via Tape MCP

Tape MCP connects AI platforms such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini Enterprise directly to your Tape data. Authorization now works with a simple sign-in instead of manually configured Personal Access Tokens. Get started with Tape MCP ➜

Connect your integrations

Integrations supporting OAuth 2.1 are rolling out gradually and can be authorized during setup with a simple sign-in. Go to Settings ➜ Connections within your organization to view supported integrations.

Manage access directly in Tape

Organization-level controls provide enterprise-ready management and granular control over active connections.

To manage access:

  1. Click your organization name in the top-left corner.
  2. Go to Settings ➜ Tape MCP or Connections.
  3. Select the Manage tab.

Organization owners and admins can:

  • Restrict connection permission: Set global policies allowing members to connect all tools or only pre-approved integrations. This policy control is included in Premium plans.
  • Disconnect all connections: Disconnect everyone in the organization from Tape MCP or from integrations at once.

For targeted user management, select All MCP clients at the top of the Manage tab and open the β€’β€’β€’ menu next to a specific tool:

  • View members: Review connected members, initial authorization dates, and last active timestamps. Disconnect individual users as needed.
  • Access: Limit tool availability to Everyone or Admins & owners.
  • Disconnect all members: Disconnect everyone from that tool at once.

What’s next

We are onboarding new integration partners to support OAuth 2.1. Stay tuned for upcoming connections in your organization settings.

Happy building!
