:bulb: Join our webinar: 🗓️ Sept. 4th LIVE virtual meetup - how to use smrtPhone in Tape

Hello Tape Community!

We started using smrtphone integration, thats an awesome job!

It works perfectly for making calls directly from Tape, and saving that data into a Log app.

Now, I’d need to understand if its possible to send SMS directly from Tape, through automations, considering smrtPhone’s integration.

I see it is possible to edit a new SMS, but is it possible to send the SMS as long as the process is happening inside Tape?

I’m not a smrtPhone pro, but I recently tried setting up something similar with smrtPhone. I just searched for “SMS” in their Help Center, and there are quite a few results, like this one:

Often, it’s written for Podio users, but it worked for us in Tape as well.
For something else, we contacted smrtPhone directly. We found their contact info here:

Hope this helps.

@toni This is what you’re looking for.

The documentation is a bit “Podio”-centric but all the information is there, including what URL to call, the fact that you need to put the API key in the headers, and the three variables that are required.

Please note that Podio automatically selects “Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded” but in Tape, nothing is assumed so you have to put this in to make it work the same way.

Hi everyone!

I’ve tried to set that workaround for sending automate SMS from Tape.

I guess I’m doing something wrong or missing things here, as I wasnt able to send messages so far.

I’ve tried some combinations of Remote HTTPS Call using POST method:

Those first combinations were the simpliest trial. I tried to send to both URLs that were described at the link @andrew.cranston has given (with and without the term “(parameters)”

Then I tried to eliminate the Phone field Labels, simply by creating a calculation with the phone instance:

By the end, I tried to add the “Content-Type” parameters, as described by Andrew:

I’m not that familiar with API coding, but I tried some codes coming from AI. No success so far, maybe i’m missing something there.

It would be really good to have that setup, so we would elevate this smrtphone usage within Tape, as many communications in our customer’s operations are sent through SMS today, so this is the only missing point for this project.

If anyone here has any glue or have already developed that integration, it would save my week! haha

Tks guys for supporting!

Apologies for not getting back to you on your previous message. Please see my screenshot below. The Content-Type is a header so it always needs to go in the headers section. You should also be careful to ensure that there’s no extra spaces added after adding tokens to the Request parameters, as Tape inserts those spaces by default.

If you organize everything based on the parameters shown in my screenshot, it will work. Please let me know if you have any further issues.
