Why is the Email field not validating the input?

For our AI-Fee Forwarding Tool, we use the native email field from Tape. We’ve encountered a bug where certain emails fail to send due to an invalid email address. So I’m wondering: why doesn’t this type of field validate the input?

I just tested and re-verified this myself. There is indeed an issue in the current validation logic.

The field package with email, link, and phone is the next step in the new record experience after the member field. We will address and improve the validation as part of this work.
