Use a task list to break the work in a record into smaller parts or share it across several people. Every item works like a task of its own and lives right inside the record.
That is also why the field has a new name. A checklist is usually just a list of items with boxes to check. That no longer describes everything these items can do. So Check list is now Task list.
How to get started
1.) Switch to the new record experience in one of your database apps
ยท Click the โขโขโข button in the top right
ยท Select New Record Beta
ยท Click Set as default for you (all details โ)
2.) Open any record in a database app
3.) Unlock the record via the โขโขโข menu in the top right
4.) Click the + icon in the left margin whenever you hover over a new line
5.) Select Task list from the field type list
Your existing Check list fields are now task list fields. Nothing to migrate.
What stays familiar
- Complete items
Click the circle in front of an item to mark it as complete. - Set a due date
Set when an individual item is due. Overdue dates turn red. - Assign an item
Assign an individual item to someone on your team. - Reorder items
Drag an item by its handle to move it up or down. - Add a description

- Keep individual items private
Task list items are public by default, just as before. You can now change the access of an individual item toPrivate. A private item is only visible to you. When you assign a private item to someone else, it also becomes visible to its collaborators. - Set a priority

Pick which details appear directly on every item. SelectHide allto return to a simple list of titles. - Set the default for everyone
As an admin, selectDefault for everyoneto save the current filters and display settings as the default for your team. Each user can change these settings for their own view. To return to the team default, they can clickReset. - Display options
Two new options for how the field is shown:Show after creationshows the field after the record is created.View onlykeeps the field visible but not editable.

Adjust the label display and size, placeholder, tooltip, field icon, and more. The full style system is available for the task list field. - Default value
Pre-fill new records with a task list item. Set itsStatus,Priority,Title,Description,Due dateandAssignee. - Top and bottom description
Add helper text above or below the field, such as instructions, context, or hints for people filling out a form. - Field access (Premium plan feature)
Restrict who can view or edit the task list field. - Rules (Premium plan feature)
Show or hide task list fields based on other field values. - Rearranging task list fields
Use theโฎโฎhandle next to the field label to drag and drop task list fields. Reorder them, move them around the record, or place them into different columns. - Select multiple task list items
Select several items with your mouse, then delete them or drag them to rearrange them.
