When you’re collecting structured data, the UI matters.
A dropdown for a select field is perfect when space is tight or you have lots of options. But if it helps to see all options at once, a dropdown adds an extra step. Different use cases need different interactions.
This is something Tape’s community has been asking for, so we’re rolling out new ways to display select fields in forms and the new record experience.
Three select fields,

Single select
Choose one option, useful for categorization. -
Multi select
Choose one or more options, useful for tagging items across multiple categories. -
Status
Track progress with status tags that map to incomplete and complete.
now with more “Display as” settings:
- Dropdown
- Inline buttons (new)
- Buttons (new)
- Radio buttons (available for single select and status field)
- Checkboxes
