We are delighted to announce that Create PDF , one of the most powerful actions, is now available in Supercharged Workflow Automations by Tape.
Overview
The “Create PDF” action allows you to create custom PDF files with any formats and margins from your data for later use in other actions. With the PDF editor, you can design, preview, and automate anything for your work by structuring data and processing variables in PDF files.
A simple use case
“When a record is updated (Trigger) and if the category changed to create an invoice (Filter) then create a new PDF file with custom data and attach the PDF file to this record (Action)."
Create automation using the action “Create PDF”

First automation block - Trigger - the “When this happens” automation statement
- Choose a trigger, for example
When a record is updated
- Set the trigger by selecting the app where the automation should be triggered
- Choose a trigger, for example

Second automation block - Filter - the “And if conditions are met” automation statement
- Set your filter to start actions only if certain conditions are met:
- A field to be evaluated, at the first dropdown menu
- An operator at the second dropdown menu, i.e., Contains, Does not contain, Is not, etc.
- A field value - enter the field value for the selected field from the first dropdown. Note that the operators e.g. “is empty” and “is not empty” do not require you to input a field value
- Set your filter to start actions only if certain conditions are met:

and choose between various actions - Set up your action based on the action you’ve selected, like
Create PDF
here in this example. Change the file name and layout, enter variables with the @-menu or build a table, change the text color, and open the fullscreen for much more options. - Choose and setup an additional action

and choose between various actions, e.g.Update record
- Click

- every field type has its own row. Add as many as you like - Set up the action condition to update the collected records:
- A field to be evaluated, at the first dropdown menu
- An operator at the second dropdown menu depends on the selected field type i.e., Set value, Set options, Set date, Clear, etc.
- A field value - enter the field value for the selected field from the first dropdown or attach the created PDF file to a file field

Edit and manage actions
The automation editor allows you to edit or manage actions and holds all the important details about your specific automation. To open the editor - click the card with the title of your automation at the gallery of the automation center. From this point, you can choose between various options. Learn more about →
